Battle of Champs slated at Elorde’s

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top breeders and cockfighting aficionados brace for a fierce duel with their respective aces when the four-cock Battle of Champions is held on May 15 at the Elorde Cockpit Stadium in Sucat, Parañaque.

Promoted by businessman/sportsman Johnny Elorde, the event, set to start at 7 p.m., has a guaranteed prize of P300,000 with entry feel of P11,000.

The minimum bet is pegged at P5,500 with the handler and gaffer receiving P20,000 and P10,000, respectively.

Weights required are from 1.8-2.4kgs with submission/declaration of weights set on May 14.

Tipped to contend for top honors are participants from Laguna, Batangas, Cavite, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas and Pasay along with Atty. Astorga (Baybay, Leyte), Mayor Nene Aguilar, Lito Campilo, Bong Paraiso, Marlon Arnaiz, Jojo Marquez, Silver Mallet, Chito Bong, Capt. Villaruel, Tony Mabasa, Aglo Martinez, Eric/Don Enrique and Vetsin Elorde Cockpit.
