Bulldogs rout Pateros five; Pampanga Foton sinks Marikina
MANILA, Philippines – Manila NU-MFT rolled past Pateros Austen Morris, 58-47, while Pampanga Foton trounced Marikina Wangs, 75-66, to remain tied at the helm in the Filsports Basketball Association Second Conference at the Trinity University of Asia Gym in Quezon City Tuesday night.
Issa Gayle fired 14 points while the rest of the Bulldogs clamped down on defense and held the Associates’ Nic Belasco, Jawhar Purdy and Chris Cofield to a combined 20-point output after the troika normed 60 points in their last three victories.
The Toplanders, on the other hand, leaned on Marlon Gomez’s 18 points and eight rebounds as they turned back the Deliverers for their sixth win against two losses for a continued share of the lead with the Mica Tan-backed Bulldogs.
In other result, Malolos Mighty Bulsu edged Quezon City UP, 75-74, to bolster its semifinal bid.
Mark Pangilinan and Dominic Fajardo combined for 37 points as Mighty Bulsu notched their third win against five losses to force a four-way tie for third with Pampanga Foton, Pateros Austen Morris, Marikina Wangs and QC UP.
Eric Altamirano, Willie Miller, Ali Peek, FBA CEO LJ Serrano, COO Claudia Perrine graced the games along with commissioner and CFO Vince Hizon.
