MANILA, Philippines -- Former three-time division champion Shane Mosley said on Thursday (Manila time) that Floyd Mayweather looked distraught following the reports of the undefeated American champion taking illegal IV shots prior to his last fight against Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.

Mosley dismissed the report that came out on SB Nation claiming Mayweather took (intravenous) IV shots containing vitamins as just part of the hype of the upcoming Mayweather-Andre Berto fight.  He added that he knew about it even before the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.

Mayweather reportedly took the IV shots due to dehydration. While it was not a banned substance according to the standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the IV administration is prohibited.

Mosley, however, contested that the IV shots did not help Mayweather to win the fight.

Mosley thinks that Mayweather must be really dehydrated that USADA have granted him an exemption. The 44-year old boxer, who have lost to both Pacquiao and Mayweather in the past, said that people should not make the news a big deal.

In the end, Mosley sympathizes with Mayweather, who has never earned the respect of the majority of the boxing community despite his accomplishments in the sport.
