MANILA, Philippines -- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's champion Ronda Rousey's wish of watching Manny Pacquiao take on Floyd Mayweather, Jr. live up close and personal has been granted.
Pacquiao's promoter and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is a huge fan of the Mixed Martial Arts sensation and promised to give her a ticket on the eve of her title defense against Cat Zingano.
Earlier, Rousey said she's rooting for Pacquiao to win and needed to win her fight against Zingano to earn a big payday to afford the highly-priced ringside ticket to the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight on May 2 in Las Vegas.
It turned out she doesn't have to break her bank to catch the highly-anticipated fight of the two greatest boxers of her era.
"Just call me and I'm happy to get her a ticket. I really admire her, she's a real warrior," Arum told TMZ.
Arum believed she would win the fight. Rousey did it in stunning fashion. She finished Zingano in just 14 seconds, a lot quicker than Arum's interview with TMZ.
Rousey reportedly got $180,000 purse for her successful sixth title defense but even that will be not enough to score her a ringside ticket which will likely go at face value of $5,000 but believed to be offered only to high-rollers with $250,000 credit line with the MGM Grand according to Arum in a report by New York Daily News.
Luckily, Arum is a big fan of her. And on May 2 in Las Vegas, Rousey, the fan, not the fighter, will be there to witness history unfold.
