MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao says his megabuck fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a go, saying all they’re waiting for is the undefeated American’s signature.
“Oo, positive na,” Pacquiao said in a TV report by GMA.
Reports claim the announcement, which will come from Mayweather himself, is imminent.
Negotiations for boxing’s biggest fight – originally targeted for May 2 – have hit a snag the past few days. But according to Pacquiao, pending issues have already been ironed out.
All that’s left now is for Mayweather to sign his name on the dotted line.
“Pirma na lang (ni Mayweather),” added Pacquiao, who the other day announced he'll start training soon for his next fight.
The Filipino icon has agreed to every demand by Mayweather just to make the bout happen, including a 60-40 purse split in favor of the latter. He also left the announcing of the fight to Mayweather.
