Toby’s Karyn Velez Memorial badminton Oct. 22-24

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top junior players are expected to provide excitement and stiff competition in the Toby’s Sports Karyn Velez Memorial Youth Badminton Championships 2014 set Oct. 22-24 at the Powersmash Badminton Center in Makati.

The tournament’s finals will be played Oct. 25 at Robinsons Place Manila Midtown Atrium.

Top junior players who already registered are fast-rising Ros Leenard Pedrosa, Prince Joshua Monterubio, Joseph Wilson Lopez, Frell Keeyan Gabuelo, Alexis Geverjuan, Sarah Joy Barredo, Airah Mae Nicole Albo, Alvin Morada and Jessie Francisco.

The national junior players selected by the Philippine Badminton Association will be pitted against school and club players in the tournament named after the Philippine’s former No. 1 player and Toby’s ambassador, Karyn “Chibby” Velez.

The deadline of entries is on Oct.18. and the coaches’ draw date is on Oct.  21, 2 p.m. at the Toby’s Sports Head Office in 73 C. Raymundo Ave., Brgy., Caniogan Pasig.
