Tams ram Falcons as UAAP first round ends

MANILA, Philippines – FEU ended its first round campaign on a positive note, hacking out a 71-62 victory against winless Adamson in the 77th season of the UAAP men's basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday night.

Mike Tolomia fired in 21 points in 21 minutes to lead the Tamaraws while Mark Belo added 13 points for the Morayta-based squad.

FEU improved its record to 5-2 (win-loss), creating a three-way logjam for the second spot in the standings with NU and DLSU. Ateneo is the sole leader with a 6-1 card.

Don Trillano paced the Falcons with 17 points while Jansen Rios chipped in 16.

Adamson is the lone to team to end the first round without a win, losing all seven games.
