Heat tweet: Hope training going well

MANILA, Philippines - Former NBA champion Miami Heat gave visiting Gilas Pilipinas a shout-out and wished the Pinoy dribblers well as they hold training camp in South Florida for their coming Fiba World Cup drive.

“Welcome to Miami, @coachot & @smartgilasph! We hope ur training camp for 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup is going well!” the Heat posted on their Twitter account.

Gilas players were appreciative of this gesture and coach Chot Reyes even invited the team coached by Fil-Am Erik Spoelstra for an interaction.

“@MiamiHEAT Yes it is! Thanks for the welcome. Hope you could drop by so we can visit,” Reyes twitted back.

Gilas stalwarts LA Tenorio and Jason Castro  got to meet the Heat’s new acquisition, Luol Deng at Marriott Marquis Miami and had a photo op.

The Nationals are in the homestretch of their build up for the Spain Worlds, joined by naturalized center Andray Blatche for the first time.
