MANILA, Philippines - The first Lualhati Cup gets going Tuesday with a huge field from various sectors all set to vie for individual and team honors at Wack Wack’s West Course in Mandaluyong City.
Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. with tee-off to kick off at 8:30 a.m. on Nos. 1 and 10 after the traditional ceremonial drive.
Up for grabs in the 18-hole tournament, held in honor of the late Dr. Jesus Tanchanco Sr., the event’s prime mover and steering committee chairman, who passed away last April, are the overall crown anad the low gross title.
Also on tap are competitions in Classes A, B and C, ladies division and the team event.
Tanchanco was also the UE executive director, UE Alumni Association, Inc. (UEAAI) adviser and UE Alumni Foundation Inc. chairman.
Listup is ongoing with fee pegged at P5,000, inclusive of green fee, caddy and golf cart fees, meals, giveaways and one raffle ticket.
The event also aims to raise funds for the UE alumni scholarship program for underprivileged but deserving UE students, and those UE students who were victims of the super typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan.
Backing the event are Megaworld Corp., Stradcom Corp., Globe, SGV and UE.
