MANILA, Philippines - To raise funds and support its first batch of bar candidates, the De La Salle University College of Law (COL) will hold the first DLSU golf tournament on April 28 at the South Course of the Valley Golf and Country Club in Antipolo.
The tournament, in partnership with the Lasallian Commission on Bar Operations (LCBO) and the De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA), is open to all La Salle alumni, as well as to supporters and friends. The COL’s goal is to achieve 100 percent passing rate in the upcoming Philippine Bar examinations.
The event is part of a series of Bar exam-related operations aimed at helping the first batch of La Sallian law graduates in their preparation for the Bar. It also aims to drum up support from Lasallian alumni, for DLSU’s neophyte law school, especially graduates from different La Salle schools who are now lawyers.
“The College of Law is still a baby. We’re very new in the legal community and we need all the help we can get,†said College of Law Dean Jose Manuel Diokno. “We have many dreams we hope to achieve with support from alumni as well our supporters from the legal community.â€
The COL is DLSU’s latest addition to its roster of colleges. Established in 2010, the College of Law offers a multi-disciplinary approach in the study of law. It offers a Juris Doctor (JD) program that promotes human rights as its core advocacy.
