MANILA, Philippines - The BMC Air Filter Circuit Showdown, a showcase of the fastest “toys for big boys” blasts off Saturday at the Batangas Racing Circuit. Gates open at 7 a.m.

After four months of off-season preparation, excitement is brewing with talks about all the upgrades drivers have been doing to their toys. Will Rafael La O’ hold on as grid king? Does Joby Tanseco still have the consistency to stay on top with his Supercars?

With seven Brackets for Time Attack and awards to be given to the top 3 fastest times of the day regardless of tires, organizers see a wide open race for the titles.  For the grid race, brackets have been made tighter and faster, now with an extra class called Grid D.

Circuit Showdown is  supported by BMC Air Filter, GT Radial Tires, Mitasu Oil Japan, Staging Lanes Las Piñas, A1 Advertising, Aguila Auto glass, Rota Wheels, Skunk2, Exedy Performance Clutches, HANS, Richmond Auto Parts, Brembo, Sabelt, Philgerma, Foil A Car Manila, Aero Med, Walter Lights and Sounds, C! Magazine, Driven and Refresh car fresheners.

Circuit Showdown will also be previewing the Asian V8 Championship cars at halftime.

In July, the Philippine Micro Series will be launched, where the smallest race cars will be fighting for the top spot in its inaugural season.

In December, the Philippine Endurance Cup will be stretching the six-hour endurance race to nine hours.

The next day will be a day to test the past champions in the second Champion of Champions where there will be a sudden death shootout of all the champions from 2010 to present driving the same car.
