Lady Falcons eye spot in title round vs Archers

MANILA, Philippines - Adamson University shoots for a second-straight automatic appearance in the title round when it takes on De La Salle University at 9 a.m. today at the close of the elimination round of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 76 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Diamond.

The Lady Falcons (11-0) are three wins away from snatching their second “four-peat.” They previously achieved the feat from Season 60 (1997-98) to 63 (2000-01) and from Season 66 (2003-04) to 69 (2006-07).

In other games, University of Santo Tomas takes on University of the Philippines at 11 a.m., while National University clashes with University of the East at 1 p.m.

A win by the Lady Bulldogs (8-3) or a loss by the Golden Tigresses (7-4) will give NU the second seed in the Final Four. UE (5-6), on the other hand, has secured the last semis seat.

In women’s volleyball, Far Eastern University and Adamson University duel at 4 p.m. also today for the last semifinals berth at The Arena in San Juan.        

NU, meanwhile, seeks to clinch the twice-to-beat semis bonus against also-ran University of the Philippines at 2 p.m.
