MANILA, Philippines - The Alabang Country Club holds the 30th Mango Tee starting today with the first batch of 800 players taking a crack at prizes totaling close to P10 million.
Presented by Smart Infinity, Petron and Pancake House/Yellow Cab, the pearl anniversary of the Mango Tee is big in numbers and heavy in innovations including the much-awaited entry of lady participants.
A Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a Toyota FT-86. a Mitsubishi Pajero, and a Chevrolet Spin top a bonanza of hole-in-one prizes never before seen in the long history of the Mango Tee.
Golf carts from Texas Eagle, Club Car and Yamaha aside from business motorcycles from APE and a Canon Camera serve as additional prizes to the premium cars for the hole-in-one challenge on designated holes.
Former President Fidel Ramos again led the opening ceremonials on Saturday together with club president Archie Lacson, golf committee chair Jude Aguilar and other members of the ACCI board as well as the Mango Tee committee headed by Martin Lorenzo and Dennis Hernandez and representatives from the various sponsoring groups.
FVR also heads the list of who’s who in the jampacked roster that includes Sen. Tito Sotto and celebrity brother Vic, Isabela Gov. Faustino Dy III, National Golf Association of the Philippines president Tommy Manotoc, Clark Dev’t Corp. president Arthur Tugade, Lexus Manila president Danny Isla, CATS Motors president Felix Ang and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines president Hikosaburo Shibata, among others.
