Tagaytay Highlands Cup golf to help poor youth

MANILA, Philippines - Part of the proceeds of the eighth staging of the Highlands Ladies Cup on Oct. 19 will go to the Sisters of Mary boys and girls town center and the Pearl Buck Foundation in Silang, Cavite.

The Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter, headed by tournament co-chairs Dionne Cu and Connie Mamaril, has been assisting the Sisters of Mary, with the mission of education for employment, the last seven years as part of its social commitment to help the underprivileged youth fulfill their dreams by way of allotting part of the proceeds of the annual event for the center.

A full-packed roster is expected to see action in the 18-hole tournament to be played under the System 36 scoring format with fabulous prizes at stake in various categories and in the raffle draw during awards rites.

CATS Motors, exclusive distributor of Mercedes Benz in the country, will again be the event’s Diamond sponsor with Security Bank and W Tower and Baron Travel Corp. as Platinum backers and Pilipinas Shell as Gold sponsor.

The event, featuring the top golfing ladies from the country’s leading clubs and their guests from the government and private sectors, has also drawn Kawsek Inc., Regent Travel and Unilab as bronze sponsors.

Aside from the ladies division, other events on tap in the tournament are the men’s Classes A, B and C competitions and seniors category.
