Coke super series unfolds in EK Sunday

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s leading karters gear up for another explosive showdown when the Coca-Cola Karting Super Series hits its halfway mark this Sunday at Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

After the Boomland race, Daniel Miranda of Cebuana Lhuillier leads the field with 210 points in the ROK senior division after sweeping the first two legs in Carmona and Batangas.

But Sacha Feliciano is just within striking distance with 192 points after posting an impressive sweep at Boomland, making the upcoming event crucial for the leading karters in the event sponsored by Coca-Cola Philippines and Yokohama and sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.

The event will also serve as part of the anniversary celebrations of the country’s premiere theme park.

Focus will also be on Formula-E karters CJ Tsui and Bobby Domingo along with young SEAOIL-DC-Kilton karter Gabe Cabrera, who are all gunning for a victory to bolster their respective title chances.

Tsui is in third overall with 146 points while Domingo has 89 points for fourth. Cabrera is in third in the ROK Overall class with 137 points.

Cabrera also paces the Junior Karter of the Year race with 207 points with Raymond Cudala of Tough Gear Racing in second with 176 pts. Followed by Formula-E’s Jaz Monzones (94 pts) and Brian Thorp of AUTS Racing (60 pts.). Cabrera also holds the top spot in the ROK Clubman division with 222 points against Liam Linao (108 pts.), Wayne Darvin of Total Racing (107 pts.) and Thorp (72 pts.)

Cabrera also shows the way in the Formula SL Novice with 340 points with AT Tuason of TRS Karting Kids in second with 236 pts. and Mark Francis Tanlu of AUTS Racing assembling 177 pts. for fourth.
