BDO Run for Life builds houses, livelihood centers

MANILA, Philippines - Close to 4,500 runners participated in the BDO Race for Life, an annual fund-raising event held by the BDO Unibank in coordination with the BDO Foundation, recently at the Mall of Asia grounds. 

This is the fifth year BDO Unibank and the BDO Foundation have held the event which is donating all proceeds to build multi-purpose facilities for BDO Foundation’s housing resettlement projects for families affected by recent natural calamities.

For the past four years, the funds raised from the event and donations of BDO volunteers built several multi-purpose halls and renovated a livelihood center in BDO Foundation’s various housing projects and resettlement sites in San Jose del Monte and Calumpit, Bulacan, Navotas and Caloocan.

Forty-eight winners, both  BDO and non-BDO employees, were awarded medals and prizes from sponsors.

CARD-MRI sponsored the finishers’ medals given to all 21K runners and top 500 10K category runners. Sponsors’ booths lined up the activity area, adding more fanfare and excitement to the event.

All runners received a loot bag with tokens courtesy of sponsors. Pocari Sweat was the official hydration partner and Soleus, the official timing partner, with Outbound Asia providing the trusses for the start/finish arc.
