MANILA, Philippines - Lanz Uy shot the day’s best round of two-under-par 67 to post a two-shot lead over Korean Kim Tae-woo in boys’ Class B in the first round of the Philippine Golf Foundation Junior Masters Northen Luzon eliminations leg at the Camp John Hay course in Baguio last Monday.
Uy made four birdies against two bogeys to set the pace in his division where two slots are being disputed for the national match play finals slated May 21-24 at the Alabang Country Club.
Park Jin-young and Daniella Uy took charge in Class A, Annika Guangko paced Class B, Aidric Chan and Kayla Nocum set the pace in Class C and Josh Jorge and Annyka Cayabyab emerged the leaders in Class D.
In the non-qualifying Class E of the tourney serving as the fifth leg of the summer circuit organized by Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines, Armen Posadas and Monique Arroyo led the pack with their 109 and 110, respectively.
The winners here will join qualifiers from next week’s leg in Cebu (May 2-3) and the other two legs in Splendido and Del Monte in the national finals.
