Zombies return in Outbreak Manila this April

MANILA, Philippines — Fans of Outbreak Manila are preparing their zombie survival skills yet again for the fourth installment of the much-anticipated thrill run on April 13 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

A 5km zombie-infested obstacle course that has instilled fear in over 22,000 runners since its inception last year, Outbreak Manila will hold its anniversary run from 6 p.m. until 12 a.m.

“Our zombies have missed the screams of the runners. They are ready to chase and we can assure you – One year later, it will not be any easier,” said organizer Angelo Cruz of Runtertainment Inc.

The key to surviving the run is by finishing with at least one life flag intact. Each runner is given a belt with three red life flags. For one night, the zombies trade in brains for flags, and will do anything and everything to grab these flags from the runners.

Still, any form of physical contact and violence are not allowed.

Registration is ongoing at Brooks SM North Edsa; RUNNR Bonifacio Global City and Alabang Town Center; The Move at Bonifacio Global City; and Toby’s Shangri-La, Glorietta, SM MOA, Ermita.

Participants also get an Outbreak Manila souvenir shirt, a waterproof race bib, a belt with three life flags, and a loot bag. A medal also awaits those who finish “alive” or with at least one life flag left.

Outbreak Manila is presented by official hydration partner Summit and 100 Plus, its official venue partner Bonifacio Global City, and Runtertainment Inc.
