MANILA, Philippines - The Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Region 3 sports competition reeled off yesterday at the Columban College in Olongapo City with National chairman Dr. Emmanuel Angeles as guest speaker.
The opening ceremony was highlighted by an exhibition of the Angeles University Foundation Pep Squad.
Ma. Angelica Arsenal, gold medalist in the PRISAA national swimming competition, led the oath of sportsmanship while another swimming champion, Ciela dela Cruz, lit the torch.
According to Columban College president, Rev. Fr. Daniel Presto, the sportsfest will be held for three days.
Competition will be conducted in 16 events – baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, football, sepak takraw, volleyball, athletics, badminton, chess, dance sports, karate-do, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis and taekwondo.
There will also be a cultural competition in vocal solo and the search for Ms PRISAA Region 3.
The champions in the different events will represent Region 3 in the PRISAA National Collegiate Games slated on Feb. 10-16 in Dagupan City and Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Angeles is proud to announce that many of our country’s top athletes today started their respective careers in the PRISAA.
