MANILA, Philippines - Tai Zulberti of CityKart and Eduardo Coseteng Jr. of San Miguel Racing Team flashed top form to rule their respective divisions in the Enchanted Kingdom leg of the Coca-Cola Karting Super Series at the EK Kart Track in Sta. Rosa, Laguna recently.
Zulberti swept the qualifying, pre-final and final races to emerge the Formula Cadet Expert champion while Coseteng bagged the crown in the Formula Cadet Novice division.
It was a breakthrough win for Zulberti who wrested the top spot in the race for the series crown with 377 points, 28 points ahead from erstwhile frontrunner Dylan Arambulo who has 349 points.
Despite the challenge of the 750-meter Enchanted Kingdom Kart Track and the pressure from Arambulo, Zulberti held his ground throughout the 16-lap final race which he completed in nine minutes, 50.528 seconds or 2.849 seconds ahead of runner-up Arambulo.
AT Tuason of TRS-Castrol Kids placed third to keep his hold of solo third overall while Jacob Chamness and Wils Casequin wound up fourth and fifth, respectively.
Coseteng, meanwhile, posted his second straight win after the Asian Karting Open and improved his chances for at least a third place finish with 212 points despite missing the first two rounds of the series sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Coca-Cola, Yokohama Tires, Motorstar and Aeromed.
Francis Tanlu of AUTSRacing claimed the runner-up honors for 324 points, just five points behind Jose Luigi Lachica of One Racing, who kept the lead despite a fifth place finish in the race.
