FitFil, Nestle stage 5-week fitness camp
MANILA, Philippines - Some 400 fitness buffs took part in the five-week Fitness Boot Camp conducted by the FitFil (Fit Filipino) Movement in Cebu City at the Bonifacio Global City.
In partnership with Nestlé Philippines through its Corporate Wellness group, and with the participation of St. Luke’s Medical Center, the FitFil Boot Camp, conducted by coach Jim Saret features a unique, science-based program of 15 outdoor evening sessions with guidance in three areas: fitness, nutritional, and motivational coaching.
The Ayala Center in Cebu City hosted the first edition while the second was held at the BGC where each participant successfully completed the 500 workouts, structured as different exercises involving all major muscle groups, totaling 500 repetitions.
Nestlé Corporate Wellness chief Leslie Go-Alcantara said that partnering with the FitFil Boot Camp brings a new level of relevance to the company’s Wellness advocacy, combining the elements necessary for building sound lifestyle habits.
“Nestlé’s Wellness program in the country, which started in 2005, is a long-term response to global and local trends in which lifestyle diseases have become the leading causes of mortality and morbidity,” said Alcantara. “Nestlé is committed to promoting moderation, variety and balance – MOVABA – in every person’s diet, in tandem with fitness activities. Our commitment includes encouraging people to modify their lifestyles if need be, to achieve better health.”
“The FitFil Movement aims to share the benefits of fitness and bring it within reach of more Filipinos from all walks of life,” Saret said.
“The involvement of Nestlé with its wellness advocacy is timely, because fitness and nutrition go hand in hand. Plus we have the participation of motivational coaches who are living examples in attaining fitness.”
