Victory Liner FC thumps Union Internacional in UFL

MANILA, Philippines - Diliman Victory Liner FC vented its ire on Union Internacional Manila, 3-1, in the Second Division match of the United Football League at the University of Makati field in Makati.

Ariel Zerrudo Jr. sealed the victory with a 60th minute goal as the Diliman booters wound up second with 56 points on 18 wins and two draws against a single defeat behind virtual champion Pachanga FC.

Pachanga FC earlier routed Agila FC, 4-0, to clinch the division crown with 61 points on 20 wins and a standoff without a loss for an outright promotion to the first division where it will join big guns like Loyola Meralco Sparks FC, Kaya FC and Global FC.

Other scorers for Diliman were Paolo Ansaldo (37th) and Francis John Liza (46).

Union International Manila, whose lone goal came from Ajah Goodluck Stanley on the 39th minute, absorbed its eighth setback against eight wins and five draws but still remained at No. 5 with 29 points.

In the only other second division result, Manila All-Japan FC drew strength from Shinichi Tanaka as it stunned Laos FC, 1-0, to improve to 18 points.
