MANILA, Philippines - Far Eastern U made it two-in-a-row over St. Benilde, including an emphatic 56-34 victory last Monday to advance to the finals of the Sandugo-Collegiate (Basketball) Development League women’s division.
The Lady Tams went on a quick start and raced to a 24-8 lead which they used as the springboard to post the win and arrange a title showdown with the Lyceum Lady Pirates.
The finals is set Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Trinity University at 2:30 p.m. at the Trinity University gym in Quezon City.
Camille Sambile fired 20 points while Karen Columna and Vangie Soriano added 10 and nine markers, respectively, for the Lady Tams.
Grace Dadal shot nine points to pace St. Benilde’s losing stand in the tournament backed by the Philippine Sports Commission, Gatorade, Phiten and Primovit multivitamins.
In the men’s side, National University tries to defend the crown it won over Olivarez College last year against Informatics, also on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
St. Benilde and NU dispute third place honors in the women’s division while St. Benilde battles STI for third in the men’s side.
Former PSC commissioner Chito Loyzaga will be the special guest in awards rites where he would present the Caloy Loyzaga MVP and Mythical Five individual awards.
