MANILA, Philippines - Twelve-year-old Suzzane Vernon Himor of Dasmariñas Elementary School in Cavite stole the thunder from her private school rivals as she took the most-outstanding-swimmer award in the 11-12 years category of the NCRAA swimming competition yesterday at the La Salle Dasmariñas pool.
Himor gained the gold in the 200m individual medley in two minutes, 46.23 seconds, the 100m freestyle in 1:09.99, the 50m butterfly in 33.89 seconds, 50m breaststroke in 43.28, 50m backstroke in 37.00 and 50m freestyle in 33 seconds.
Precila Loren Aquino, 14, from the University of the Philippines, Delia Angela Cordero (16) from the DPS and Kara Colaste (10) from Emilio Aguinaldo College were most outstanding swimmers in their age categories.
Inaki Emil Lorbes, 10, from the Susan Papa Swimming Academy, won gold medals in the 50m freestyle, 50m back, 50m breast and 50m butterfly, where he remained within the Quadruple A standard of the American Motivation Time with a time of 33 seconds.
Sean Terence Zamora, 11, from Emilio Aguinaldo College, 14-year-old Emmanuel Joshua Lorbes of Montessori de Manila and SPSA and 16-year-old Kevin Claveria of DPS were the most outstanding swimmers in the men’s side.
The Aqua Knights of Cavite was overall champion in the club competition while DPS ruled the schools category.
