PSL swim circuit on at Amoranto

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Swimming League launches its 2012 Age Group Circuit with the first leg today at the Amoranto Sports Center in Quezon City.

Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte has made available the free use of the swimming pool, under sports administrator Andy Apostol, for the event which covers competitions for boys and girls six years and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-above.

The competition, which is open to members and non-members, actually serves as the 18th leg of the PSL Circuit and its first for the year. It has drawn 350 participants, with St. Jude fielding the biggest number.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

PSL president Susan Papa said winners in each of the four legs from January to April will qualify for the second Nikki Coseteng Swimming championship on the third week of May.
