Four races highlight TRS Raceday at BRC

MANILA, Philippines - The Tuason Racing School holds the third TRS Raceday on Sunday with a promise of another intense racing action from the country’s leading drivers at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Four races – Invitational Drag Race, University Track Day, the MP Turbo Time Attack Challenge and the TRS Cup powered by the Ford Fiesta – topbill the whole day affair with IDR tipped to draw more than 50 entries and the UTD to feature student drivers.

The MP Turbo Time Attack Challenge, on the other hand, will put the drivers’ skills to a test with participants battling it out for the best time.

Highlighting the event, presented by Castrol and Bridgestone, is the TRS Cup where 11 drivers dispute the crown over eight laps.

Former Rep. Charlie Cojuangco and hotel executive Bobby Horrigan of Castrol Titanium Edge dispute solo leadership as they gun for crucial wins in Rounds 7-9 of the series sponsored by Coke Zero, Smart Bro, Smart Netphone, Standard Insurance Car Pro, Hafele, OMP, Belo, Official Time U-Boat, Oakley, Rota Wheels, Emotion, Starbrightbodykits, Speedlab, HAStravel.com, AAP, event partners Manila Beer, Toptul and Lifeline, and media partners C! Magazine, Manila Bulletin, Stoplight TV, TurboZone, Channel V and 99.5RT FM.

Cojuangco dominated the first leg, ruling two of the three races.  Horrigan bounced back in the second leg where he likewise snatched two wins in three races to gain a share of the top spot.

But three others remain in the hunt, including Stefan Wolf of Hafele, Eric Choi of Smart Netphone and the youngest driver in the field – Baste Escalante of Smart Bro.

Making his debut in the series is Korean Micky Kim of Team Auto Access as he joins Yvana Carangan of Standard Insurance Car Pro, the Pacific Jet Corp. husband-wife tandem of Ross and Daisy Jackes, Mike Lagman and Ding Dizon of Coke Zero.
