MANILA, Philippines - Adamson streaked to its sixth straight win by outlasting La Salle, 67-66, while University of Santo Tomas ended a five-game skid with a 74-70 victory over Ateneo, the FCBL Dickies Cup at the Philippine Buddhacare gym in Quezon City over the weekend.
Jinky Balasta scored 10 points, including the game winner, as the Lady Falcons zeroed in on the No. 1 spot in the quarterfinals for the twice-to-beat incentive. She also had six assists, three steals and two rebounds to likewise bagged the Dickies Underwear Player of the Game award.
Mary Penaranda top scored for the Lady Falcons with 16 points.
La Salle fell to 4-2 in a tie with UAAP champion Far Eastern University and Centro Escolar University in the event backed by Smart, Mang Inasal, Home Depot and Powerhouse.
The Lady Tams leaned on 19-point performance of Camille Sambile to turn back CEU, 57-49.
The Tigresses, meanwhile, snapped out of the rut by turning back the Lady Eagles.
In the other game, Lyceum, with France Cabinbin on the firing end, downed University of the East, 50-36, to even its card at 3-3.
