Alcano eyes revenge vs Peach in PBB

MANILA, Philippines - Ronnie Alcano and Britain’s Daryl Peach clash tomorrow at resumption of the Philippine Big-time Billiards Face Off Series with the Filipino ace out to avenge the two local aces defeats to German Ralf Souquet in the first two legs of the series.

Souquet humbled world No. 1 Dennis Orcollo and Carlo Biado before local fans recently but Alcano vowed to stop the foreign bets’ domination of the event.

The race-to-9, 10-ball match, set at Pagcor Airport Casino in Parañaque City, will be the fourth between Peach and Alcano with the former holding a 2-1 advantage.

Peach, a former world 9-ball champion, defeated Alcano in the 2006 International Pool Tour in Las Vegas, Nevada and 2007 World Pool (9-ball) Championships in Manila. Alcano, on the other hand, topped Peach in the 2007 World 8-ball Championships in United Arab Emirates.

At stake in the winner’s-break format event, jointly organized by Mega Sports World and BRKHRD Corp., is the top $5,000 purse.

The event will be aired live over Solar Sports, Sky Channel 70 and Destiny Channel 34. It can also be viewed live on www.starbilliards.com.ph, www.megasportsworld.com and www.philippinebigtimebilliards.com.

Peach is also scheduled to meet world 9-ball champion Francisco “Django” Bustamante on Nov.26.
