MANILA, Philippines - RnW Pacific Pipes hopes to draw another pair of solid games from Fil-Ams Virgil Buensuceso and Jordan Sanvictores as it shoots for its third win in six starts against PC Gilmore in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the FEU gym today.
“I hope they fit into our system quickly. Their presence is really a boost for the team,” said RnW coach Topex Robinson of his two personnel, who were allowed by the league to play Monday after obtaining certificates of recognition from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation.
Buensuceso, a 5-9 point guard, scored 19 points, had seven assists and four steals in his debut while Sanvictores, a 6-foot-6 center, shot 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to power RnW Pacific Pipes to a come-from-behind 80-76 win against Café France.
As the SteelMasters (2-2) scramble for a playoff spot, Robinson hopes his Fil-Am duo from California will be consistent with their performance in their 4 p.m. duel with the Wizards, winless in two games.
Café France and Cobra Energy Drink clash in a duel of winless squads at 2 p.m.
