PBA holds X'mas sale for ailing kids

MANILA, Philippines - The PBA will hold a special “Christmas Sale” starting next week to raise funds and bring joy to children stricken with cancer.

Jerseys, shoes, and other memorabilia of PBA superstars James Yap and JC Intal are among the items that will be up for sale in the two-week event.

The PBA Celebrity Bazaar will open shop on Nov. 15-17 at the activity center of Robinsons Midtown in Ermita, Manila and Nov. 27-30 at the activity area of Robinsons Metroeast in Cainta, Rizal. It will also hold an auction at the activity area of Robinsons Forum in Mandaluyong City on Dec. 2-4.

Proceeds will be used to fund the Christmas Party the PBA will host for the patients of the Cancer and Hematology Center of the Philippine Children Medical Center.

It will be one of the PBA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities for the holiday season as part of its ‘Alagang PBA’ Program.

“We mark Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ and the PBA, on behalf of its Board of Governors, feels it’s just fitting to celebrate this special occasion with these special children,” said PBA commissioner Chito Salud.

The Cancer and Hematology Center has been the PBA’s adopted community since 2008.
