MANILA, Philippines - University of Santo Tomas and St. Pedro Poveda College posted their third straight victories to keep the lead in the Milo-sponsored 24th Women’s Basketball League at the Xavier School gym over the weekend.
The Tigresses beat the Assumption College side in the latter’s debut, 53-34, in the premier 25-Under Group A category of the league organized by the pioneering Best Center.
Don Bosco Technical College (1-1), meanwhile, blasted University of the Philippines-Los Baños (0-2) in the other game.
In the 13-Under games, St. Pedro Poveda held off Assumption-Antipolo, (0-1), 26-22, to claim the top spot.
Miriam College (1-1) demolished Raises Montessori (0-3), 48-3, in the other match.
Another Miriam College team blasted PWU-JASMS (0-3), 62-18, for its debut win in the 17-Under Developmental A class for joint second place with St. Scholastica’s-Westgrove.
