MANILA, Philippines - The PBA D-League recently inked a five-year deal with Online Philippines to develop its own website that will cater to its fans both here and abroad.
PBA commissioner Chito Salud said he wants to build the brand as dynamic and fan-friendly as possible just like the pro league.
“We always look for ways to strengthen the PBA D-League and our partnership with Online Philippines will help us. Based on the plans they have presented, I’m looking forward to an interactive website, which will cater to the D-League fans both young and old,” Salud said.
The league’s official website – pbadleague.com.ph – will be launched next month in time for the opening of the second season in October.
During the inaugural tournament, won by the NLEX Road Warriors, D-League news and updates were accessible through the PBA’s official website www.pba.ph.
Online Philippines vice president Kelvin Chua also expressed optimism that their experience in digital marketing can help the league grow bigger.
“Our combined experience in website development and digital marketing will really help the PBA D-League to become more relevant to its fans and to potential partners and sponsors,” said Chua, who is also the general manager of A-xet Floorcoverings Pte Ltd Philippines.
According to Online Philippines operations director Jonathan Laguitao, the website will feature live scoring, news updates, blogs, photo galleries, forums and interactive games.
“We’re excited on this venture and the challenge to help the PBA D-League reach out to more fans and create a digital platform where the fans can converge and talk about their favorite teams and players,” said Laguitao, who is also the Trade Marketing Manager of Johnson & Johnson Philippines.
Laguitao also said that their team is working on making the games available on the website via live stream.
