MANILA, Philippines - Antonino Gadi and Bianca Carlos brace for a tough outing as they go for their third straight victories in the MVP Sports Foundation-Bingo Bonanza Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) tournament which holds its third leg on July 30-Aug. 30 at the Wheels and More badminton courts in Davao City.
Gadi swept the men’s Open singles titles in the first two legs of the nationwide circuit, beating Patrick Natividad in the kickoff leg in Manila and holding off Paul Vivas in the Bacolod stop. But he will be as much tested as the rest in the Davao leg which features the leading and rising players in the Mindanao region.
Carlos, on the other hand, hopes to keep her reign in the girls’ 19-Under singles of the event, put up by Vice President and Philippine Badminton Association president Jejomar Binay, Rep. Albee Benitez and businessman-sportsman Manny Pangilinan, while going all out to re-claim the crown in the Open division won by Malvinne Alcala in Bacolod.
Also seeing action are members of the national pool along with the mainstays of the various clubs, including Golden Shuttle Foundation, JLTC, WWGBA and Team Prima.
Meanwhile, the event, backed by official equipment sponsor Victor, exclusively distributed by PCOME Industrial Sales, Inc. in the country, will have its draw on July 26 at 3 p.m. at the Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig City while the managers’ meeting is set July 29 in Davao.
