MANILA, Philippines - Executives of at least five major foreign-based firearms manufacturing companies will grace the Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) set July 14-18 at SM Megamall where they will also introduce more high-quality guns for defense and sporting activities of Filipino gun enthusiasts.
These gun manufacturing managers are also considering plans of establishing factories for export-quality firearms to be used by law enforcement units and military forces in various parts of the world.
Khamis Al Muwaijel, regional manager of Caracal International based in United Arab Emirates; Darren Newsom of BVAC based in Montana, USA; Tom Wagner, regional director of Sig Sauer based in the US; Dave Skinner of STI International based in Texas; and George Wedge, vice president of Para Ordnance US; will be attending the five-day event.
According to Gina Angcangco of Armscor Philippines, Muwaijel will be Armscor’s guest of honor in the launching of a new Caracal pistol that will be used by the Philippine team competing in the World Shoot in Rhodes, Greece this September.
To drum up the strong features of the new Caracal pistol, Armscor will allocate one bay for test firing of Caracal pistols during the Bolo Tuason Cup to be held simultaneously with DSAS event on July 15-17 at the Armscor Firing Range in Marikina City.
Armscor will also donate one Caracal handgun to be raffled off during the DSAS for a lucky visitor along with several Caracal caps and t-shirts.
Neri Dionisio, president of the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers, the organizer of DSAS, said that they have lined up several free seminars on gun safety and handling, responsible gun ownership, proper firearms maintenance, rescue and first aid, and martial arts.
