Pangasinan stages age group chess

MANILA, Philippines - The Pangasinan national age-group chess championships will be held April 8-12 with the country’s leading and rising players vying for top honors at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Complex in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

At stake are trophies and cash prizes in six age-group categories in both boys and girls divisions, including 18-and-under, 16-and-under, 14-and-under, 12-and- under, 10-and-under and 8-and-under.

The winners in the nine-round Swiss system tournament in their respective age-group categories will also earn berths in the national team competing in the Asian Youth Championship in Subic next month.

Heading the cast are Lennon Hart Salgados of Cagayan de Oro and Janelle Mae Fryana of Bicol.
