Palaro streams meet results live
MANILA, Philippines - Followers of the Palarong Pambansa, the annual multi-sports meet for elementary and high school student athletes, will have a chance to monitor the games live even on the web.
The Department of Education’s Task Force School Sports, in charge of the Palaro, is set to putting up a live streaming of the actual results of all events in centerpiece athletics and medal-rich swimming in this year’s games slated May 8-14 in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.
“If plans don’t miscarry, we will use live streaming of all the results of track and field and swimming,” said Palaro consultant Len Toledo. “If it happens, this would be the first time we’re doing it.”
That is apart from photo-finish cameras in all finish lines of athletics and swimming to be used particularly to decide on the results of close races.
“This is another first. It’s the same used in horse races,” said Toledo.
Dapitan City Organizing Committee head Romeo Jalosjos is also putting up several 16-panel LCD monitors in different areas of the main hub to allow those who couldn’t make it inside the venues to watch the games.
