MANILA, Philippines - Parents, students and school officials are holding the first ever La Salle Family Day as part of the school’s centennial celebration on the La Salle campus this Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event is sponsored by Parents of University Students Organization (PUSO) in cooperation with Malayan Insurance, Enchanted Kingdom, Globe Telecom, UCPB Vito Cruz branch, Coca- Cola, Krispy Kreme, Health Channels, Innovator, Inc., Juan Carlo the Caterer, Gatorade, BS Industrial Management Engineering Minor in Mechanical Engineering Batch ‘78, Mr. And Mrs. Jorge del Rosario and the Elorde Sports Center.
The PUSO board headed by its president, Inaki Manipula, and Family Day chairman and vice-president Alex del Rosario said the board will have a number of games and surprises in store for attendees. Cash prizes of P200,000 are at stake in the Pusolympic games. DLSU vice chancellor for La Sallian Mission and external relations Brother Bernie Oca, FSC, will lead the torch parade and declare the games open.
In response to the call of the La Sallian parents, PUSO with its theme “Lasalyano ako may integridad” will have fun games focusing on the virtue of integrity. The event also features bands and production cheering from the various colleges under the University Students Organization aside from the number of concessionaires which will be selling their goods.
Entrance is free to students. Parents will have to buy tickets at P100 each for the whole family. This will serve as their entrance and give them the chance to win raffle prizes with free tuition as the major prize.
To cap the daylong celebration, the PUSO board also announced that the winners of the search for the integrity awards will be done right after the fun game and activities.
