MANILA, Philippines - Grandmaster Wesley So will hold a simul exhibition matches on Sunday in the Milo Checkmate chess clinics at Eton Cyberpod Corinthian at the corner of EDSA and Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City.
Also on tap for participants are the problem solving contest and blitz games starting at 10 a.m. Winners will be awarded medals courtesy of Milo.
The clinics will be held Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays starting on Jan. 15 at the Whiz Child Kindergarten, Speaker Perez St. cor. Retiro, Quezon City (8:30-11:30 a.m,); Little Presidents Learning Palace in J.P. Laurel St., Mendiola, Manila (1:30-4:30 p.m.); McDonalds in Binondo, Manila (9-11 a.m.); Fairview Center Mall- Chowking (2-4 p.m.); Metropolis Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa (2-4 p.m.); Gatchalian Subd. in Las Piñas (9-11 a.m.); Jollibee-Trinoma (2-4 p.m.) and Eton Cyberpod Corinthian from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The clinic, open to kids five years old and above, consists of seven sessions with chess lectures and final evaluation tournament. Added feature is an extra two sessions for opening study. Among the courses offered are for preparatory, beginners, intermediate and advance players.
