MANILA, Philippines – The remains of former national coach Francisco “Tatang “ de Vega will be laid to rest today at the Pandayan Memorial Park in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.
De Vega, who charted the athletic career of daughter Lydia de Vega-Mercado, who eventually became Asia’s Sprint Queen in the 80s and 90s, died of a lingering illness last Dec. 26 at age 84.
Interment will follow after a 2 p.m. Mass at the Calvario Chapel at Barangay Calvario, Meycauayan.
