HOLLYWOOD -- In the second of four episodes of HBO’s 24/7 on the Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito, it was pretty clear how the Mexican camp views the coming fight.
Margarito, with his wife and kid, and trainer Robert Garcia, was shown watching a tape of Pacquiao’s 12-round battle with Joshua Clottey last March at the Cowboys Stadium.
It will be the same venue for the Nov. 13 fight, and Margarito’s camp wants to see the same Pacquiao on fight night.
“I don’t see what he can do with your power,” Garcia told Margarito.
“He’s not throwing that too many punches,” he added, even if after the fight, as provided by Compubox, Pacquiao threw a total of 1,231 punches on Clottey.
Garcia said there are flaws in Pacquiao’s style even greater that what the Filipino camp sees on Margarito.
“When I see his fights it gets easier and easier,” said Garcia.
Margarito said he knows what to do, and what it takes to win the fight for the vacant WBC super-welterweight crown.
“Don’t get impatient, and be nice and calm the whole time,” said Margarito.
Roach would disagree, of course, because in his own assessment it’s Margarito who’s easier to read.
“We will knock this guy out, I promise you,” said Roach.
