MANILA, Philippines - Businessman Oliver Gan fired a two-over-par 74 to clinch the low net honors in the Mighty Sports Founder’s Cup golf tournament at Tagaytay Midlands in Tagaytay City recently.
A six handicapper, Gan finished with 68 in the System 36 format event as he edged Pong Manuel (70) and San Juan City Rep. JV Ejercito (70) for the overall championship.
Manuel settled for the low gross crown in the tournament organized by Mighty Sports Association (MSA).
Norman Tugot, an 11-handicapper, also outlasted Ejercito for the Class A title in the event that drew more than 60 firms, including top personalities from both the business and sports sectors that have been backing the Mighty Sports projects.
No one, however, made a hole-in-one where a brand new Mercedes-Benz was staked.
Paul Beevor tallied a net 72 to nip eight others, including Lad Mojica, in Class B of the tournament that also put up 12 fun holes.
Former PBA MVP Kenneth Duremdes also hogged the spotlight as he posted a net 77 to beat Hyo Shin (79) for the Class D crown.
Emy Arcilla turned in a net 74 to capture the Class C diadem.
Peter Denk wound up second with a 75.
Kristine Shin bagged the ladies crown with a net 74, beating Pinay Mabilin (83) and Marie Campanilla (83).
