MANILA, Philippines - ATBA-FCO’S Eric Aranez and PBA’s Nelia Santos shared the limelight as they captured the men’s and ladies’ graded masters crowns in the 39th Philippine International Open Tenping Bowling Championships at Paeng’s Midtown Bowl inside the Robinson’s Place in Ermita, Manila last Saturday.
Aranez bowled a 12-game series of 2,521 pinfalls for a 210 average as he dominated the men’s championship by 178 pins over runner-up Stewart Ngo of TBAM-Prima (2,343), while Ngo’s teammate, Kevin Cu, was third (2,339).
Santos totaled a 12-game series of 2,169 in bagging the ladies’ masters plum by 34 pins over PBAP-Bowlmart’s Anne Ramirez and PTBA’s Dinah Basuel, who both had 2,135s but placed second and third, respectively, based on the countback in breaking ties.
