Drag racing resumes in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the Batangas Racing Circuit Drag Strip resumes on Saturday with the country’s top drivers vying for top honors in the third leg of the Magnolia Purewater National Drag Racing Championship Series in Batangas.

Defending champion Jonathan Tiu tries to firm up his bid for an unprecedented seventh straight crown as he goes for a second straight victory.

Tiu has won four of his last six titles at the BRC drag strip, making him the favorite in this weekend’s races. He also holds the fastest BRC track record time of 9.903 seconds.

But with the Pro class now the basis for the overall championship, Tiu will have to adjust his set-up to fit the track condition of the BRC drag strip as he tries to wrest the solo lead from JCT-Blanche Racing teammate Anthony Go.

Go remains on top with 25 points following his victory last January and his runner-up finish in the last leg.
