Alabang shuts out Southwoods in Ladies Federation League
MANILA, Philippines - Alabang is off to a hot start in Ladies Federation Golf League after sweeping its first round series with Manila Southwoods.
The Alabang squad, still aiming for its first Fed League title, first eked out a 4-0 sweep at home then escaped with a 2.5-1.5 win in an away game. Alabang leads the six-team field with 5 points, including an extra point earned from that away sweep.
Tagaytay Highlands split its duel with Riviera while Sta. Elena also split its match with defending champion Orchard.
Highlands , Orchard and Sta. Elena are all tied at 3 points while Riviera has two points.
The second round pits Alabang against Orchard in a return match after last year’s finals showdown won by the latter. Tagaytay battles Southwoods while Sta. Elena collides with Riviera.
The top four teams after a single-round robin series will clash in the knockout semifinals.
