AddMix shatters Fern-C

MANILA, Philippines - AddMix leaned on a big fourth quarter by former Philippine Christian University standout Lizstian Amparado to score its first win, an 81-70 beating of fellow newcomer FERN-C, in the 2010 PG Flex-Erase Placenta Cup at The Arena in San Juan Tuesday.

Amparado led the Transformers (1-1) with a game-high 19 points, nine in the payoff period, Adamson star Jan Colina added 14 and six rebounds, while Gio Ciriacruz nearly had a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds.

“It’s good that we were able to bounce back and learned a lesson from our tough loss against Cobra (81-77) last week,” said coach Leo Austria.

AddMix shoots for its second straight win when it collides with Ascof-Lagundi today.

Fern-C and Pharex B Complex meet at 2 p.m. with the Ferntastics of coach Bal David out to end a two-game winning run. Pharex B Complex holds a 1-1 record.

Jorel Canizares deviated from the game plan but he atoned for it by burying a running three-pointer in the dying seconds, lifting unheralded Cossack Blue past Ascof Lagundi, 88-87, in the first game for a share of the lead.

Canizares, the one-time University of the East Red Warrior, led all scorers with 22 points behind a 7-of-16 shooting, including four triples, including his game- winning shot off the outstretched arms of Von Lanete in the final 5.1 seconds.
