MANILA, Philippines - St. Jude’s Kim Lo fired 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as he powered the Judenites past the Hope Christian High School side, 75-70, in their knockout duel for other finals berth in the Freego-Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball (MMTLBA) tournament at the Chiang Kai Shek College gym in Tondo, Manila last Friday.
The victory sealed the St. Jude-Xavier title clash with Lo’s heroics also enabling him to share the Freego Reflex Denim Player of the Week honors with Xavier’s Jeron Teng.
“Good thing for us, Kim Lo raises his game a notch higher when we needed it most,” said St. Jude coach Goldwin Monteverde.
Teng, on the other hand, again starred for the team’s 91-86 win over Chiang Kai Shek College, producing 34 points and 23 rebounds.
This marks the third time that Teng won the weekly honors in the tournament presented by Fresh Gear Revolution Denim.
