MANILA, Philippines - Eric Gallardo and Maan Legaspi broke into the win column by topping Class A in the recent second leg of the school season series of the ICTSI Jungolf Circuit at the executive course of the Valley Golf and Country Club in Antipolo.
Gallardo outduelled Andres Saldana by one with a 75 in the boys division while Legaspi matched the 78 of Anne Sabater then prevailed in the countback for the girls plum.
As kids continued their quest for points in the newly introduced national ranking system, Rupert Zaragosa, Princess Superal Kim Min Gi, Kristoffer Arevalo, Bernice Olivares-Ilas, Jed Dy and Arnie Tanguines zoomed ahead in their respective divisions after notching their second straight wins.
Joining ICTSI as sponsors of the circuit are Philippine Airlines, McDonald’s, Smart, Golf Depot, Pioneer Insurance, Coca-Cola and Unilever.
Superal (75) beat Dana Gonzales by eight in girls Class B, Zaragosa (76) nipped Lanz Uy by one in boys Class C, Kim (73) was convincing in an eight-shot win in girls Class C and Kristoffer Arevalo (73) won by eight over Korean Won Jun Ho.
Also at Valley, Chang Yo Shen (74) edged Jama Reyes (75) for the Class B plum, Jin Yu (89) won over Sam Bruce (99) in girls Class D and Joey Huerva (76) was the special division winner.
At Riviera, Josh Jorge (64) denied the repeat bid of Carl Corpus with a five-shot win and Olivarez-Ilas (56) continued to dominate by beating Harmie Constantino in Class E. Class F action saw Dy re-asserting his might with a 54 and a 17-stroke win over Miguel Olivares-Ilas and Taguines (74) beating Mika Tanoue by seven.
The series resumes this weekend with a two-day tournament at the Ayala Greenfield in Calamba, Laguna and Riviera Sports.
