Tigers reach MBL semis

MANILA, Philippines - University of Santo Tomas subdued two-time champion Ocean Fresh-Lyceum, 77-70, in a rematch of last conference’s title showdown to advance to the semifinal round in the 2009 MBL Invitational basketball championship at the Lyceum gym in Intramuros recently.

Clark Bautista scored a game-high 26 points to power the Tigers to the victory while booting out the Pirates in the season-ending tournament sponsored by Smart Communications, Dickies Underwear, PRC Managerial Services, Jose’s Inasal, Santillan Beach Resort-Cebu and Big Boy Restaurant.
