Milo Little Olympics fetes NCR winners

MANILA, Philippines - Twenty-four young athletes from the National Capital Region received Most Outstanding Athlete (MOA) awards at this year’s Milo Little Olympics-NCR held in Marikina City.

Twelve elementary and 12 high school student athletes were chosen for displaying exceptional character and behavior and for embodying the Milo ideals of sportsmanship, hard work, camaraderie, teamwork and discipline.

They will represent the NCR in the first ever National Milo Little Olympics scheduled Oct. 23-25 in Cebu City, where they will compete with other regional champions from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The winners are:

Elementary: Trisha Ramirez, Dr. J.P. Rizal ES – athletics, Frell Keeyann Gabuelo, Divine Light Academy – badminton, Elijah Maliam, Dr. J.P. Rizal ES – chess, John Chael Quilapio, Marist School Marikina – football, Raya Nazario, St. Paul College-Pasig – gymnastics, Marcen Gonzales, Ateneo – lawn tennis, Richmond Geminiano, Concepcion ES – scrabble, Elmer de Gracia, Itaas ES – sepak takraw, Christine Jhoy Mendoza, Dr. A. Albert ES – swimming, Christopher Jamilosa, Diosdado Macapagal ES –table tennis, Louie Santiago, St. James Community School-Antipolo – taekwondo and Ruvince Abrot, Concepcion ES – volleyball.

High School: Michelle Palmares, Sister of Mary – athletics, Jeff Foronda, Claret School QC – badminton; Mark Eric Lao, Sta.
