MANILA, Philippines - The University of Manila Hawks outlasted the AMA Computer University Titans, 80-77, and stayed firmly at second in the ninth NAASCU basketball tournament.
It was a repeat of their first round encounter where the Hawks played the Titans to two overtimes before securing a 94-87 victory.
Sander Salvador of AMAC scored a buzzer-beating three pointer to tie the score at 69 in regulation.
The Hawks relied on the exploits of John Matubang of New Washington, Aklan and Jeff Alvin Viernes of Delfin Albano, Isabela to post their second-best 12th win in 14 games behind front-running SSC-R Cavite (13-1).
